QuiltCOMMUNITY

Bright Hopes joins with community groups in Suffolk County, New York, including Scouts, religious groups, mother’s centers, and others to teach sewing skills and make quilts to donate. Armed with sewing machines, needles, and thread, these community volunteers help us create quilts to be donated.

We also work with individual students on their community service projects. They get involved with whatever we are working on at the time, from ironing fabric to coordinating grant applications.

Please contact us at 631-371-6277 or brighthopes@earthlink.net if your group would like to get involved!

A QuiltCOMMUNITY Partner: FREE/Day Services East

Our QuiltCOMMUNITY partnership with FREE (Family Residences and Essential Enterprises) began in 2011. The participants at their Day Services East program for differently abled adults have been sewing quilts to donate through our QuiltGIVING program. To offset the cost of materials and design for these quilts, they have been making and selling tote bags.
